Skokie, IL – July 27 , 2017 – Forsythe Technology is pleased to announce that it has once again been recognized as one of the top 50 solution providers in North America. Forsythe is #37 on CRN’s 2017 Solution Provider 500, which ranks the largest North American technology integrators, solution providers and IT consultants by revenue. Forsythe has been on the list every year since it was first published, and has held a top 100 ranking for 22 of those 23 years. Earlier in 2017, Forsythe appeared on CRN’s Tech Elite 250 and Managed Service Provider (MSP) 500.

CRN’s Tech Elite 250 honors North American IT solution providers that have earned the highest number of advanced technical certifications from leading technology vendors, scaled to their company size. Forsythe has been recognized as part of the Tech Elite 250 every year since the list’s inception in 2011.

CRN’s MSP 500, introduced in 2014, recognizes excellence in managed IT services. The list is divided into three categories: the MSP Pioneer 250, the MSP Elite 150, and the Managed Security 100. In 2017, Forsythe was recognized as part of the Managed Security 100, which recognizes MSP’s focused primarily on off-premise, cloud-based security services. In 2014 and 2015, Forsythe was recognized as part of the MSP Elite 150, which recognizes large, data-center-focused MSPs with a strong mix of on-premise and off-premise services.

“Transformation in the IT industry goes hand in hand with the disruptive challenges and opportunities our clients face, not only from technology, but from their customers’ changing needs and expectations,” said Bill Brennan, president and CEO of Forsythe Technology. “Forsythe’s expansion from technology leasing company to VAR to consultancy to managed service provider and enterprise colocation provider reflects these changes as well. Our transformation has been driven by our decades of commitment to developing deep industry knowledge and best-practice expertise in IT infrastructure, security and operations; building long-term client and partner relationships; and bringing our clients the right IT skills at the right time to help them take advantage of new IT models—the latest of which is cloud.”

 A Brief Forsythe History:

In 1995, when CRN first launched the Solution Provider 500 rankings, Forsythe was still primarily known as Forsythe/McArthur Associates, a technology leasing and financing company established in 1971 that expanded into value-added reseller (VAR) services in the early ‘90’s. 1995 was the year Forsythe began providing implementation services for network, server, storage and security.

  • In the early 2000’s, Forsythe expanded into advisory consulting for security, BC/DR, data center engineering, migration, and IT operations management.
  • Forsythe launched its managed services practice in 2008, and in 2012 began providing managed hosting.
  • In 2015, Forsythe opened Forsythe Data Centers, the first retail+®, Tier III, private suite data center, which combines enterprise colocation with leading-edge public cloud connectivity, private cloud hosting, and a leading independent, multi-vendor technology evaluation center.
  • In 2016 and 2017, respectively, Forsythe launched its first two “as a service” offerings, to help clients avoid capital expense and ease their day-to-day IT management responsibilities: Backup-and-Recover-as-a-Service (BaaS) and Security-Information-and-Event-Management-as-a-Service (SIEMaaS).
