Nuclio Corporation, a New Subsidiary of Forsythe Technology, Launches as Pioneer of Emerging Management Service Provider Market

New company positioned to deliver IT predictability through simplicity and reliability

Skokie, Ill. -- April 17, 2000 -- Nuclio Corporation, a Chicago-based technology services company, formally launched today--establishing itself as a pioneer in the emerging management service provider (MSP) industry. Nuclio ensures the predictable delivery of information technology to leading Web-based and traditional companies.

"Management Service Providers (MSPs) will play a critical part in providingvisibility into the Internet and e-commerce infrastructures," said Stephen Elliot, GartnerGroup analyst. "MSPs will assure the availability of transactions, Web performance, and problem identification and resolution scenarios for companies seeking a high performance electronic presence."

"The growth of the Web has expanded IT services beyond a 9 to 5 proposition for all companies, whether they are Web-based or brick and mortar," said John Jazwiec, president and CEO, Nuclio Corporation. "Nuclio delivers the 24x7 management and monitoring of critical software applications that all business models demand today."

Through a $10 million investment in automation tools and an established client base, Nuclio brings proven simplicity and reliability to an increasingly complex IT market. As a wholly owned subsidiary of Forsythe Technology, Nuclio was founded to commercialize ITWatch, a service created in 1998 to manage and monitor critical software applications around the clock.

According to industry analysts, the IT managed services market is currently estimated to be worth $323 billion. The Web-hosting market alone is projected to exceed $22 billion by 2003, up from $2.7 billion today. Nuclio has established relationships with several Web-hosting centers to reserve collocation space to meet future demand, thus eliminating the need to invest in physical infrastructure.

"We go far beyond what people have grown to expect from their service providers by making the operation of software applications simple and reliable, and redefining what it means to be comprehensive and dependable," said John Jazwiec, president and CEO, Nuclio. "We manage and monitor software application functions so they operate as reliably as turning on the lights. In fact, we are building our business on this philosophy—there should be no surprises."

"While forming the new company, we found the name Nuclio best described the essential service they perform," said Eva Losacco, senior vice president, Forsythe Technology. "They form the central point, or 'nucleus,' around which all key elements revolve."

Although the MSP market is emerging, Nuclio has already proven its value by serving a roster of more than 20 clients, including the Chicago Stock Exchange, as well as managing a network of established relationships with market leaders such as Sun, EMC, Oracle, Cisco and HP OpenView.

Nuclio’s Foundation

Nuclio's parent company, Forsythe Technology is a nationwide systems integrator and value-added reseller with 30 years of experience in the industry and over 2,000 customers nationwide. In 1998, Forsythe developed ITWatch, a service which proactively managed and monitored IT components around the clock. The service was enormously successful, and in January 2000, Nuclio was incorporated to bring this service to market. In addition to Forsythe's nationwide sales force, Nuclio benefits from a $10 million investment in technology automation during three years of research and development and solid financial support.
